Andi Amran Sulaiman, M.P., delivered a public lecture entitled “Sustainable Agricultural Policy” at the Faculty of Agriculture, Hasanuddin University. He also stated that appropriate regulations and policies could increase food productivity in Indonesia.
“One of the current focuses is on changing the subsidy mechanism with projections of increasing not only the quality but also the quantity of production,” he said.
He further outlined various ongoing government strategic programs and upcoming strategic plans. He also encouraged universities to play an active role as centers for research and innovation that can produce real solutions for sustainable agriculture.
“The students present here will, in the next few years, be disseminating brilliant ideas that are adaptive to current developments,” he explained.
The public lecture concluded with an interactive discussion session where participants had the opportunity to raise questions and share their views on the implementation of sustainable agriculture in Indonesia. This activity is expected to serve as a forum for sharing ideas and fostering synergistic collaboration between the government and academia.
