The Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture Welcomes New Masters and Doctoral Students, Encourages Them to Produce Innovations That Impact Society

The Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, Hasanuddin University, Prof. Dr. Ir. Rismaneswati, welcomed new Masters (S2) and Doctoral (S3) students in a series of Introduction to Campus Life for New Students (PKKMB) at the Faculty Level following a university-level briefing the previous day. The event took place in LT (Lecturer Theatre) 6 of the Faculty of Agriculture, Hasanuddin University, Friday (15/8).

In her remarks, Prof. Risma welcomed all new students. She hoped that the Masters and Doctoral students would utilize their studies not only to deepen their knowledge but also to develop critical thinking skills, conduct research, and generate ideas relevant to the needs of agricultural development.

“Continuing your education to a higher level means being ready to improve your personal and academic qualifications. So, it’s not just about knowledge, but also about how you produce novelties and innovations that we hope will impact society at large,” she explained.

Furthermore, students are expected to foster a collaborative academic culture with lecturers, fellow students, and various parties outside the campus. This collaboration is considered crucial for broadening perspectives, strengthening networks, and opening up opportunities for developing more applicable and responsive research to address various challenges in the agricultural sector.

“Some of the students here are part of institutions, so we hope that by starting their academic journey at the Faculty of Agriculture, all students can contribute actively, armed with the experience they have gained in the world of work,” she added.

PKKMB continued with a more in-depth introduction to the study programs and systems implemented during the learning process by each Head of Study Program.
