



The Barru Regency Government, together with Hasanuddin University and PT. Asia Agritama Perkasa, carried out a joint planting of JJUH 01 hybrid corn seeds as part of the Triple Helix collaboration, which brings together government, university, and industry representatives. The activity took place at the seed nursery in Galung Village, Barru District, Barru Regency, on Saturday, May 9, 2026.
The Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture at Hasanuddin University, Prof. Dr. Ir. Rismaneswati, SP., MP, represented the Chancellor of Hasanuddin University, demonstrating the institution’s support for the development of the agricultural sector based on collaboration and innovation. The presence of various parties at this event demonstrates a shared commitment to strengthening national agriculture through the development of adaptive and productive superior seeds.
“The joint planting of JJUH 01 Hybrid Corn seeds is a strategic step in strengthening synergy between the academic world, local government, and the industrial sector,” said Prof. Risma.
She continued that through this Triple Helix collaboration, the development of agricultural innovation is expected to not only stop at research, but also be able to be implemented in the field and provide direct benefits to the community, especially farmers.
The JJUH 01 hybrid corn variety is expected to contribute to increased agricultural productivity and support the development of superior corn seeds in South Sulawesi. Furthermore, this initiative is part of a collaborative effort to realize sustainable agriculture that can meet the challenges of future food needs.
Through this joint planting activity, all parties hope that the existing collaboration can be further strengthened, thereby accelerating the development of the agricultural sector, particularly corn. This effort also represents a tangible contribution to strengthening national food security and improving the welfare of farming communities.
