PPK Ormawa Mahatani Unhas held horticulture cultivation land based on the Drip Fertigation Gravity System (SIPRODIV) in Tamalanrea Indah Subdistrict. The activity was enlivened by the Head of the Unhas Student Achievement and Talent Development Sub-directorate, Vice Dean for Academic and Student Affairs, Faperta, Fisheries and Agriculture Service, Tamalanrea Indah Subdistrict Secretary, Assistant Lecturer, Unhas Achievement Working Group Team, and various other Community Figures, Wednesday (21/8) .
This activity is a manifestation of the commitment of the Ormawa Mahatani Unhas PPK team in supporting community empowerment, especially in the agricultural sector. Through this program, the use of the SIPRODIV program can increase the capacity and welfare of the Tamalanrea Indah Village community.
The activity began with a report from the Chair of the Ormawa Mahatani PPK Implementation Team, Muhammad Fachri Rama Dwi Astrada. According to him, this Grand Opening marked the completion of SIPRODIV’s main activities which included training on the installation and use of gravity drip fertigais, cultivation process training, post-harvest handling training, derivative product processing training and product marketing training.
“We hope that this program can be the first step in collaboration between the community and the Faculty of Agriculture, Hasanuddin University. In the end, success is never final and failure is never fatal. What is important is the courage to continue,” he said.
Further remarks from the General Chairperson of UKM Mahatani, Muhammad Irsan, who expressed his appreciation to the PPK Ormawa Mahatani Implementation Team, “Thank you to all stakeholders who have made this grand opening a success, and deepest appreciation to the PPK Ormawa Implementation Team who always maintain their enthusiasm. In spreading benefits, as well as our commitment as an ormawa to encourage the sustainability of the program by making KWT Kerabat our village partner for continued empowerment,” he explained.
Meanwhile, Vice Dean for Academic and Student Affairs, Faculty of Agriculture, Hasanuddin University, Dr. rer. nat. Zainal, STP., M.FoodTech, expressed his appreciation for the enthusiasm and consistency of the PPK Ormawa Implementation Team in carrying out this program. “It’s extraordinary the enthusiasm of the students who remain consistent in carrying out the program which certainly faces many obstacles. “I hope that this program can continue and be monitored so that it can produce real results and its sustainability can be maintained,” he said.
After a series of remarks, the activity continued with the signing Memorandum or Agreement (MoA) between the Faculty of Agriculture, Hasanuddin University, represented by Dr. rer. nat. Zainal, STP., M.FoodTech, with Tamalanrea Indah Village, represented by the Village Secretary, Mrs Asliah Kamal, SE. The signing of this MoA marks collaboration between academics and local government in supporting this program.
