The Faculty of Agriculture, Hasanuddin University, received a visit from UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta in order to conduct a comparative study in preparation for the International Accreditation visitation (ASIIN). The visit was received directly by the Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, Prof. Dr. Ir. Salengke, M.Sc accompanied by the Vice Dean for Academic and Student Affairs, Dr. rer. nat. Zainal, STP., M. FoodTech. The activity took place starting at 9.00 WITA on the 2nd Floor of the Faperta Assembly Room, Tuesday (21/11).
The activity began with remarks and welcome remarks by the Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, Prof. Salengke for the visit of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta. He also expressed his gratitude for choosing Unhas, especially the Food Science and Technology Study Program (ITP) to conduct a comparative study. According to him, the ITP Study Program is a good example regarding ASIIN accreditation considering the many good changes that have occurred since the initial accreditation in 2019.
“In the Faculty of Agriculture itself, the study program that has been accredited by ASIIN is the ITP study program, then the other two, namely the Agricultural Engineering Study Program, the Master’s Program in Pests and Plant Diseases, are still in process, and the Agribusiness Study Program is in the FIBAA accreditation process,” said Prof Salengke.
He further added that Unhas always encourages each study program to excel in participating in international accreditation so that Faperta continues to improve the quality of each study program. Apart from that, laboratories that comply with standards are also a requirement for applying for international accreditation.
Parhan Hidayat, M.Hum as the Quality Assurance representative of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome from the Faculty of Agriculture Unhas. He revealed that his aim in conducting a comparative study at the Faculty of Agriculture was to find out more about the standardization of ASIIN accreditation passes.
“One of the main topics of our comparative and benchmarking studies at the Faculty of Agriculture, Hasanuddin University, is that we want to see ASIIN standard laboratory facilities. Apart from that, we might also ask more in-depth questions regarding the standards or processes that have been carried out by the Faculty of Agriculture,” he said.
Moderated by Vice Dean III Dr. rer.nat Zainal, the activity continued with a more in-depth discussion regarding the ITP Study Program accreditation process starting from submission to obtaining ASIIN accredited status. Visits were also made to laboratories and various facilities in the ITP Study Program.
