In supporting Hasanuddin University’s target of being ranked 1000th in the world, the Faculty of Agriculture Unhas held a workshop entitled “Practice and Mentoring: Standardization and Submission of Scientific Articles to National and International Journals Faperta Unhas.” The activity took place starting at 13.00 WITA in the Boulevard Room, 18th floor, Arthama Hotel, Makassar, Saturday (11/11).
The activity began with remarks and opened the event by the Vice Dean for Partnerships, Research and Innovation, Dr. Ir. Mahyuddin, M.Sc. He said that this activity was held as a form of Faperta Unhas’ full contribution in supporting scientific publications to produce scientific journals. Mahyuddin said that this is an important indicator considering the existence of a performance contract which is mutually agreed upon annually between the faculty and the university.
“Faperta’s performance contract this year is to produce 197 journals indexed by Scopus and currently we are in first place in both number and percentage within the scope of Unhas, namely 270 and a percentage of around 140%,” he said.
Mahyuddin further added that although Faperta’s performance was very good, this did not mean that these activities were not a priority. According to him, this activity must be carried out to remain focused on producing publications in order to improve Unhas’ world ranking.
Dr. Rahmansyah Dermawan, SP., M.Si as chairman of the committee expressed his appreciation for the presence of the participants. He said that even though many scientific articles had been published, this did not dampen the enthusiasm of the participants.
“Thank you to the faculty leaders who have provided support and facilities so that this activity can run smoothly. Progress to date, there are 43 articles submitted with around 40 lecturers from 5 departments. During these two days, we studied, wrote, reviewed and submitted articles together in the target journal categories, both national and SCOPUS indexed journals,” he explained.
The activity continued with the presentation of material by Prof. Ir. Muhammad Arsyad, SP., M.Sc., Ph.D regarding “Utilization of Information Technology in Writing Scientific Articles and Periodic Election Strategies.” Also present was the Dean of Faperta Unhas, Prof. Dr. Ir. Salengke, M.Sc in his material related to techniques in submitting articles as well as obstacles to accepting scientific journals. The activity ran smoothly for two days from 11 November to 12 November 2023.
