In order to welcome the 2023 new students, the Faculty of Agriculture, Unhas, held a public lecture entitled, “Changing the Mindset and Expanding the Knowledge of New Students at the Faculty of Agriculture, Unhas,” Friday (18/8/2023). Located on the 1st floor of the Faperta Hall, the Public Lecture presented Dr. Ir. H. Andi Amran Sulaiman, M.P.
Prof. Dr. Ir. Salengke, M.Sc as Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture introduced the profile of the public lecture speaker to new students. For him, the topic of public lectures is related to the mindset that will be presented is really needed by new students.
“Everything that started from the wrong mindset generally will not produce anything good and will not produce something optimal as expected,” he said.
He further added that the Faculty of Agriculture carried out this activity to place the mindset of students in the correct place before starting the lecture process. The hope is that with the right mindset, all activities that will be carried out while studying at the Faculty of Agriculture will direct students to good results, correct results, and optimal results.
Dr. Ir. H. Andi Amran Sulaiman, M.P in his presentation said that to achieve what you dream of, you have to make more effort in studying. According to him, the most difficult thing is to start but much more difficult is to be consistent and persistent.
“Read any book every day, this must be persistent. Repeat for 41 days, persist until it becomes a habit. Once it becomes a habit, it will be successful,” he exclaimed.
Dr. A. Amran also reminded students to determine the direction of their goals from today. If this habit is carried out continuously for up to four years of study, it will have the best results.
