In order to optimize cooperation, the Faculty of Agriculture, Hasanuddin University and the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) after previously signing the PKS in December 2022. The signing of the MoU was carried out on the 2nd floor of the Faperta Assembly Room from 9.00 WITA to finished, Thursday (2/3/2023).
The purpose of this collaboration as stated in the MoU is to maximize research, development, study, and application of inventions and innovations, as well as community service, especially in the agriculture and food sector.
Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture Unhas, Prof. Dr. Ir. Salengke, M.Sc appreciated and welcomed the arrival of 30 BRIN members. According to him, collaborative research with BRIN accelerated cooperation will be much faster so it is needed especially in launching Unhas’ independent campus shop program.
“Later, whatever fields we see have the potential for cooperation, I think it can be realized. We will send a list of research lecturers at the Faculty of Agriculture, hopefully we can matchmaking with researchers at BRIN so that interpersonal discussions can be more intensive,” explained Prof. Salengke.
On the same occasion, Puji Lestari, SP., M.Sc., Ph.D as the Head of the Agricultural and Food Research Organization of BRIN said that the focus was to develop research and innovation, especially in the field of food agriculture, coupled with community service. She wants the implications of both parties to produce innovations and studies on food agriculture.
“Also, how can we maximize the existing infrastructure, so please if the Unhas want to take advantage of BRIN facilities, we are very open. Then also how with this collaboration we can maximize contribution to human resource development,” Puji added.
Furthermore, Prof. Salengke provides an opportunity for each study program head to convey what is desired and what can be given to BRIN. After reaching an agreement, the activity ended with the signing of the MoU by Prof. Salengke as a representative of Faperta Unhas and Puji as a representative from BRIN.
