The Chancellor of Unhas Inaugurates the New Building as well as the Launching of the First Liquid Fertilizer Microbial Starter, Faculty of Agriculture

The inauguration of the new Laboratory Building and Classrooms which was coupled with the Initial Launching of Liquid Fertilizer Microbial Starter Production was successfully held at the Hasanuddin University Faculty of Agriculture on Thursday (29/12/2022).

Overseeing activities, Prof. Dr. Ir. Salengke, M.Sc as the Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture expressed his gratitude to the university for materially supporting the construction of the building. Prof. Salengke explained that the ground floor of the new building will be used as a computer laboratory to support digitization in learning at the Faculty of Agriculture. Meanwhile, the second and third floors will be used as classrooms.

Prof. Salengke stated, “I am very grateful for the inauguration of this new building because so far we still lack classrooms so often we have to combine classes that should be divided into two.”

In this activity, the Chancellor of Hasanuddin University, Prof. Dr. Ir. Jamaluddin Jompa, M.Sc to give a speech as well as inaugurating the new building and launching the liquid fertilizer microbial starter. 

Opening his remarks, the Chancellor of Unhas stated that agriculture is a source of life not only in terms of food security but also in the economy. According to him, the existence of agriculture must be maintained so that it always exists and progresses, one of which is by creating innovations as a manifestation of the tavern. 

“The more shops organized by the Faculty of Agriculture, it means that we are more relevant and more in line with what is needed by industry, companies and society,” said the man who is often called Prof. JJ. 

Prof. JJ said that the inauguration of the new building as well as the launching of the first production of liquid fertilizer microbial starter today could be the start of a process to become an example of a good and quality tertiary institution. “This independent production can be an advantage for Unhas, especially the Faculty of Agriculture,” he continued. 

The activity continued with the symbolic inauguration of the laboratory building and classrooms by cutting the ribbon by the Chancellor of Unhas together with the Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture Unhas. The end of the event, a direct observation was made of the process of making liquid fertilizer microbial starter and the technology used during the process.
