Faculty of Agriculture Holds Departure of Students Participating in the Independent Student Exchange Program II (PMM2)

Faculty of Agriculture, Hasanuddin University held a release event for Students Participating in the Independent Student Exchange Program II (PMM2). The activity which took place on Friday (9/12/2022) was carried out on the 2nd floor of the Assembly Room.

Prof. Dr. Ir. Salengke, M.Sc expressed his pride and congratulations to the exchange students who have successfully completed one semester of study at Hasanuddin University, especially the Faculty of Agriculture. However, the Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture regretted that the arrival of exchange students had to occur when conditions were still in the transitional stage from Covid-19.

“We are now still transitioning towards normal conditions so if we look at it now we are not fully like before Covid, whereas I want all students to be able to feel the euphoria of campus activities that are often held by Unhas like before Covid.” said Prof. Salengke.

However, he hoped that the experiences of exchange students while at Unhas and Makassar City would not disappoint. He also wanted the process of getting to know each other’s culture, character and language to occur between Unhas students and students participating in the exchange program.

On the same occasion, students were allowed to share their experiences while studying at Unhas and the reasons for choosing Unhas as their destination campus. Most students choose Unhas because the Faculty of Agriculture on the Unhas Campus has many practices and assignments for making reports that can train students’ analytical skills.

Diah, an exchange student, stated that she likes learning methods in class that make students think more critically. One thing that impressed her was the questions students asked during presentations. Apart from that, she also shared her experience in terms of adaptation

“Here I feel very helped by friends who have high initiative to ask us what obstacles we are experiencing. The same goes for the lecturers who always ask about our condition and how we are doing,” she explained.

“I was given advice by the head of my study program who is an alumni of Unhas, according to him the learning mechanism at Unhas is very good and Unhas residents who are known to be friendly can help me adapt quickly,” added Fairul who is also a participant in the student exchange program.
