The Faculty of Agriculture, Hasanuddin University welcomes students participating in the Independent Student Exchange II (PMM2) program after previously conducting university-level admissions on Monday, August 22, 2022.
Students participating in the PMM2 program are followed by students from various universities in the country. Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, Prof. Dr. Ir. Salengke, M.Sc and Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs, Research and Innovation, Dr. rer.nat. Zainal, STP., M.FoodTech directly welcomed the students of the PMM2 program.
On that occasion, Prof. Salengke revealed that in the preparation of the curriculum, there were revisions to several courses. He explained that this semester, every possible course for case studies will be inserted.
“Our experience so far, in the lecture system in the past, the information was usually one-way from lecturer to student while we knew that students’ methods in learning were various because people would find it much easier to understand when given a case, given the opportunity to analyze themselves, and find a solution to the case,” he explained.
Not to forget, Prof. Salengke invited PMM2 students, especially those who visited Makassar City for the first time to learn about Makassar Bugis cultures and take part in the Unhas Anniversary activities which will be held in September. He hopes that the learning process of students while at Unhas is not limited to learning in the classroom but also outside the formal classroom.
Dr. Zainal also expressed his welcome and gratitude to the students participating in the PMM2 program for dropping the choice to study at Unhas and study the environment of Unhas in particular and Makassar City in general.
“Our hope is that diving to study at the Faculty of Agriculture, the younger siblings can add insight related to how the Unhas campus is, how Makassar City is,” he said.
The Vice Dean 1 also explained that in the first weeks, the student assistants participating in PMM2 will introduce places for students to shop for necessities while in Makassar as well as public transportation tools that can be used. He asked students not to hesitate to ask questions and ask for help both to companions, colleagues, and to lecturers.
